Islamic Sciences Information Management System Nominates for WSIS Prize

The Islamic Sciences Information Management System, Research Center for Islamic Documents and Information Management was nominated for the prize of World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), 2019.
WSIS is held by International Telecommunications Union (ITU) with the support of UN in the fields of information technology, communications and information society, from April 8 to 12, 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland.
At this conference which is held with the participation of ministers of telecommunications, information technology and communications from different countries, the software companies will introduce one of their products to the festival and will go to the final festival in three stages of arbitration.
The Islamic Sciences Information Management System (thesaurus.isca.ac.ir) with three departments of encyclopedia, dictionary and indexing is a comprehensive system for management, organization and optimal retrieval of information in the fields of Islamic sciences.
The system provides the ability to search and retrieve the communication network of terms and all of the organized information associated with them. The system succeeded to become one of the award winners in the department of information and knowledge access.

It is worth noting that voters are supposed to do the registration first and then they can enter the voting process. The voting includes 18 categories and voters must vote for all the 18 categories and only one project in each category. ISCA’s project is under the title of “Knowledge Management System based on Thesaurus and Ontology”, and it is Located in Category 3.
