Arsenal ahead Nicolas Pepe has retreated from the Ivory Coast group to work on his fitness center in London.
It’s understood the 24-year-old will return to London Colney to prepare for the forthcoming Premier League fixtures and does not have an accident.
Pepe did spend a short time during the global break along with his national squad but equally Arsenal and the federation agreed that it was best that he didn’t feature in the coming friendlies from Tunisia and Benin.
The 24-year-old joined Arsenal from Lille to get a club-record #72m commission in August but had been late to join up in the summer, at which the quarter-finals were reached by Ivory Coast.
Pepe made his Premier League debut in the chair on the launch day of the season with his start coming until his very first taste of the north London derby ended in a 2-2 draw with Tottenham at Anfield.
He is yet to start his own Premier League account, but will hope to rectify that in Arsenal’s next match away in Watford on September 15, live on Sky Sports Premier League.
